I was very happy to see the Brady theater New Saturdays Are Better Down South Shirt renamed too. I definitely agree that it seems like they’ve been trying to make it right lately. It’s great to see. None of that is any sort of reparation. It’s a bunch of token gestures to shut people up. The point of this stuff is to stop real changes. I don’t think you can really assign motivation behind changes like that unless you were part of the committee or whatever that implemented them. He had a week every year where we sat down and learned about The Tulsa Race Riots, The Murrah Bombing, and other things that our “Textbook” didn’t cover for Oklahoma History.

Are you from Tulsa/Tulsa area or have you done New Saturdays Are Better Down South Shirts any research on other things Tulsa might be doing that could involve more tangible reparations? I personally haven’t done that research, but the things I mentioned are by no means a comprehensive list of the ways Tulsa has tried to recognize its problematic history and make moves to be better in the future. Yeah, I’m not going to tie myself into knots giving them the benefit of the doubt. They can off and prove themselves to me if they want that back. You do you.
